Year 12 International Students in Australia Entry Requirements
School-leaver applicants are given a tertiary entrance rank (TER). School-leavers with interstate/overseas equivalents and applicants studying the International Baccalaureate (IB) have their final school results converted to a South Australian TER by SATAC. Please see details about How to Apply.
Postgraduate Entry Requirements
Postgraduate Coursework Entry Requirements
Entry to postgraduate coursework programs as a minimum requires a Bachelors degree or equivalent qualification from an approved institution as a qualification for entry. Some of the graduate certificates and graduate diplomas that are offered may be accepted as qualifying work for entry to a Masters program, or as professional qualifications in their own right. For further information, please download:
Postgraduate Research Entry Requirements
Entry to most postgraduate research programs requires an Australian university Honours degree (first or second class) or the equivalent from an approved overseas university. Australian Honours programs are usually of 4 years duration and include a substantial research component. Applicants will need to demonstrate that their qualifications contain an equivalent level of research experience. Some departments may require students to enrol as a candidate for a Masters degree in the first instance, with the possibility of transferring or upgrading to a PhD at a later date if progress is deemed to be satisfactory.
All research projects conducted as part of these academic programs require the approval of the appropriate faculty. Details of the various postgraduate academic programs are available in the University of Adelaide Calendar.
