International Agents Newsletter
Volume 3, No. 7 (11 April 2008)
University Closure
The International Office will be closed for Anzac Day on Friday, 25 April. Normal office hours resume on Monday, 28 April 2008.
Upcoming application closing dates
30 April 2008 - applications for commencement in Semester 1, 2009 for Clinical Dentistry and Forensic Odontology.
1 May 2008 - all other applications for commencement in Semester 2, 2008.
Bachelor of Dental Surgery (Bridging Dentistry) not offered in 2009
We would like to advise that the Bridging Dentistry program will not be offered at the University of Adelaide in 2009. Please could you advise any potential applicants of this change to avoid disappointment. We will keep you informed whether the program is available in 2010.
IELTS information
To improve processing times and to assist us in ensuring that applications contain complete data for assessment, the International Office would be very grateful if all IELTS test results could be forwarded to us as soon as they become available. It would be preferable in terms of reducing handling times if IELTS results could accompany the original application, but we understand that this is not always possible.
Reminder - applications for Medicine and Dentistry
Applicants to undergraduate Medicine, Dentistry or Oral Health must take a Personal Qualities Assessment (PQA). The fee this year will be A$200 – this information is incorrect on the application form in the 2009 prospectus. The PQA will be held in Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Melbourne or Adelaide on a date to be advised. Penang will not be available as a PQA venue in 2008.
Top Ten Rating
The University has been placed amongst the Top Ten for Customer Service according to the latest Customer Service Benchmarking Australia Quarterly Survey (published in its January 2008 Newsletter). The University’s telephone customer service performance is regularly measured by CSBA against a number of other Australian tertiary institutions and over 150 other organisations from all sectors of the economy. The University’s overall performance was recently assessed as being the best of the tertiary institutions measured and among the Top Ten of all organisations surveyed.
