How to Accept an Offer of Admission

The Acceptance Process is outlined below. Please note that following this process and correctly completing the required forms ensures the smooth and efficient processing of your Acceptance and the issuing of your COE (Confirmation of Enrolment).

Step 1

Conditional Offers - If you have a Conditional Offer the conditions will be outlined in your Offer Letter and Acceptance Agreement. Please fulfil all conditions listed on your Offer Statement and Acceptance Agreement (if any).

Conditions may include: providing proof of English Language Proficiency (e.g. IELTS or TOEFL), completion of academic qualifications (e.g. graduation certificates) or provision of official documents (e.g. original or certified copies of your documents).

Step 2

Please complete the Offer Statement and Acceptance Agreement ensuring that each page has been signed and dated. Forward the completed Offer Statement and Acceptance Agreement to the International Office at the University of Adelaide or to your nominated International Representative (agent).

Special Acceptance Form for students who have applied through SATAC

If you have applied through SATAC because you have undertaken an Australian year 12 qualification (in Australia or overseas) or the International Baccalaureate at an Australian secondary school please download and complete this Acceptance Agreement.

Step 3

Tuition Fee Deposit - Please pay the required tuition fee deposit, OSHC fee (Overseas Student Health Cover) and Pre-Enrolment English Program (PEP) tuition fee, if applicable. Payment amounts are given in your Offer of Admission (payment can be made by credit card or bank cheque).

Step 4 

Visas - Contact your nearest Australian Embassy, Consulate, High Commission, or Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC) office about the process to apply for your Australian Student Visa. Depending on your country of citizenship you may need to show that you are eligible to apply for a student visa (Pre-Visa Assessment). Please see the Acceptance Information Booklet for further information.

Step 5

Personal Details - Please forward your personal details to the University (e.g. a copy of the Personal ID page in your passport) so that your COE can be correctly issued.

Step 6

COE (Confirmation of Enrolment) - The Confirmation of Enrolment enables you to apply for an Australian Student Visa. Your COE will be emailed to you or to your nominated International Representative (agent) after the University has received your completed Acceptance of Offer form and your Tuition Fee Deposit.

Step 7

Apply for your Student Visa - Once you have received your COE please contact your nearest Australian Embassy, Consulate, High Commission, or Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC) office to apply for your Australian Student Visa.

Step 8

Pre-Departure - It is important that you arrive in Adelaide and attend the International Student Orientation, Course Advice and Enrolment sessions before beginning your studies at the University of Adelaide. Please also visit our Pre-departure and Orientation websites.
