Orientation for New International Students

Student orientation at the University of Adelaide is about making friends, having fun, and finding the information and skills you need to survive and succeed in a new environment.

At the start of each semester, the International Student Centre (ISC) runs an Orientation Program designed to help all new international students make a smooth transition to academic life at the University of Adelaide. In addition to assisting you with enrolling into your academic program we will introduce you to the University, the city of Adelaide and the local community.

Semester 2, Orientation Program
Monday 14 - Thursday 24 July 2008

The Orientation Program provides a great opportunity to meet other new international students and Australian students, and to familiarise yourself with the University and its facilities. We strongly recommend participation in this program - it is designed to help you to quickly settle into new surroundings so you feel comfortable once your studies begin. Family members are also welcome to attend Orientation Program events with you.

As part of the new international student Orientation Program, the ISC opens the Welcome Centre, the 'hub' of our program. At the Welcome Centre you will have the opportunity to meet other students, University staff and International Student Centre (ISC) Advisors, and be able to relax as you plan your first few days in Adelaide. You will also receive an orientation manual titled Life in Adelaide, enrolment information and are invited to attend workshops and information presentations at the Welcome Centre. In collaboration with it’s Peer Mentors, the ISC also runs a wide range of tours and social activities as part of the Peer Mentor Support Program.

A copy of the Orientation Program of Workshops and Events will be available to download here in June 2008.
