You will receive a comprehensive enrolment guide during Orientation which will include session venues and further information.

Most Faculties are holding course advice sessions and providing assistance with enrolments in local computer labs.  Where no computer labs are listed, students can enrol online from any computer with internet access or at other computing areas on campus in The Learning Hub.

Study Abroad and Exchange Students

General Information

If you have not enrolled offshore prior to arriving in Australia, please read the following information and seek advice from the relevant Faculty or School if you need it. You may need to see more than one academic adviser depending on your course choices.
 
Course Advice

Who should seek course advice?

  • Anyone who is uncertain about the adequacy of their background knowledge for the course they are considering (read the syllabus descriptions of prerequisites for all courses you are considering before seeing a course adviser at Course Planner available at http://www.access.adelaide.edu.au/courses/search.asp)
  • Anyone who wants to enrol in a postgraduate course (these are generally only available to those with a completed undergraduate degree)
  • Anyone wanting additional information about their course/s or to confirm they will enrol in the course
  • If you want to talk to an adviser before enrolling refer to pages 9 – 13 of the Undergraduate Enrolment Guide for contact details (the guide will be available to you in the Welcome Centre)

Course Load

You should aim for a full-time enrolment of 12 units per semester. In order to maintain eligibility for your student visa you may not take any less than 9 units in a semester.
 
Enrolling Online

After you have sought the necessary academic advice, you can enrol online from any computer with internet access, either on or off campus. Assistance with online enrolment can be obtained from staff in on-campus computer labs in faculty and school offices, or by telephoning the Enrolment Hotline on (8313 3833). Staff will also be available at Information Services, Hub Central, Level 4 East, North Terrace Campus, 8.00am to 6.00pm weekdays.
 
Courses in which you are not permitted to enrol

The following courses are NOT available to Study Abroad students: 

Architecture

Approval required for courses in Design Studies, Architecture or Landscape Architecture

Health Sciences Any courses in Medicine (course codes MEDIC ST, GEN PRAC, MEDICINE, PAEDIAT, SURGERY), Nursing (course code NURSING), or Dentistry (course code DENT) programs
Languages Any course in Italian (ITAL), Modern Greek (MGRE), or Indonesian (INDO)
Law Approval required
Media Where restricted to 'B Media students only' approval to enrol is required from the Head of Discipline (subject area: MDIA).  Contact the Discipline of Media for further information.
Music  Approval is required for any Music courses other than those in the GENMUS subject area.  An audition will also be required for any performance based courses
Sciences

Courses with BIOTECH, OENOLOGY, VET SC or VITICULT course codes
Courses with the specialisation in brackets after the course name eg BIOCHEM 3003 Genes and Proteins III (Molecular Biology)

External Courses All
Postgraduate courses Approval required.
