Welcome to the International Students Newsletter! The newsletter has been developed to supplement the weekly student email. Staff from the ISC will update this Newsletter regularly throughout the year with information about what's on in Adelaide and at the University. You will also find links and information about other opportunities for international students at the University. To stay informed please bookmark this page.

Student Barometer Survey
The first winner of our weekly prize for completing the International Student Barometer Survey is Lee Sze Ching (Ashley). Congratulations Ashley – you have won a $150 Coles-Meyer Gift voucher!!
We have three more weekly prizes which will be randomly drawn so get online now and do it! We are really interested in hearing your thoughts about your experiences at the University and about ways we could improve things. There is also a $1,000 cash prize to be given to a student by the wider international group administering the survey.

Faculty of Science Academic Drop in Service
Drop-in times for Semester 1, 2012
The Faculty of Sciences provides academic assistance to students who are enrolled in specific Level I Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Geology courses below.
If you have any questions about your course(s) or if you just need clarification on a particular topic, the academic tutors will be able to help you. Click here for the full list of courses and the time and date for the drop in.
This is an excellent opportunity so please make full use of this free Drop-In service.

Free tickets to Aussie Rules Football
Free tickets to the Port Power Game this weekend, 30 available from the front counter of the ISC, more can be collected from the StudyAdelaide Office at Level 5, 144 North Tce, Adelaide.
Monarto Zoo and Murray River Day Tour
StudyAdelaide and Words on Wheels are offering a day trip safari to Monarto Open Plains Zoo and the River Murray on 17th June. The cost is only $50. For more details and to book click here.

The North Adelaide Swim School offers a range of learning and development programs, catering appropriately for all ages and abilities, seven days a week. More info click here.
Playground Finder
The site for information on many of Adelaide's best playgrounds. If you live in the Southern suburbs visit Jubilee Park Adventure Playground. Plenty of parking, parts of the playground are fenced, shade, tables and chairs, BBQ, Toilets, Access Swings and is great for toddlers. Search Playground Finder for other great parks and directions in the suburbs for you and the kids while the weather is still great!

Survey on effect of cultural, social and intrapersonal variables on university students’ help-seeking intentions
Wenjing Li, a Psychology Honours student in the School of Psychology at the University of Adelaide is running this survey, under the supervision of Dr. Linley Denson and Dr. Jessica McCormick.
The study will look at the effect of cultural, social and intrapersonal variables on university students’ help-seeking intentions. In order to investigate the differences between Australian domestic students and international students on help-seeking pattern, both Australian Domestic Students and International Students studying in Australia Universities are being invited to participate in this research study.
This study has been approved by the Human Research Ethnics Subcommittee of School of Psychology.
Participants in this study will be asked to complete an online survey (survey link: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/LI_helpseeking ). All responses and information provided by participants will be anonymous, and participants may withdraw from this study at anytime without providing any reason. All participants will have equal chance to WIN 1 of 2 $100 COLES MYER GIFT CARDS!
