Culture Warriors: National Indigenous Art Triennial

Art Galley of South Australia
20 June - 31 August 2008
Many international students tell us that they would like to see and learn more about the culture and practice of the indigenous people of Australia.  This is a fantastic opportunity to view the inaugural National Indigenous Art Triennial. Travelling from the National Gallery of Australia, its a snapshot of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander contemporary art practice. You can view the work of thirty artists showcasing the incredible range of contemporary Indigenous art practice during the last three years. You will see painting on canvas and bark, sculpture, weaving, new media, photo-media, printmaking and installation.

It's free to get in unlike many travelling exhibitions.  Art Galleries can be strange places, so be sure to go on a free guided tour on Wednesday, Saturday, Sunday and public holidays at 2pm.  That way you'll have an expert with you to answer all your questions and explain what your actually looking at.  And its right next door to the University's North Tce Campus so what are you waiting for!
