How to Renew your OSHC

It is a visa requirement that from 1 July 2010, students must obtain OSHC for the proposed duration of their visa.  If you do not maintain health insurance for the entire period, you will be in breach of the visa condition and your visa may be cancelled.

Current Students - if your OSHC expires before the end of your student visa, it is your responsibility to ensure that you renew your OSHC.

You must also renew your OSHC policy if you extend the length of your student visa.

If you allow your policy to lapse whilst on a student visa, and you wish to renew your OSHC during the duration of your student visa, you must pay the premiums for the lapsed period.

Also be aware that no benefits are payable for claims paid during the lapsed period of your OSHC.

Further information regarding student visas is available at the Department of Immigration and Citizenship website (www.immi.gov.au/students/)

If you have OSHC Worldcare health cover, you have two renewal options:

  • You can renew your health cover at the University of Adelaide University Contact Centre (Level 4, Wills Building, North Terrace Campus).
  • You can renew your health cover directly with OSHC Worldcare online. Instructions are given on the website.

Contact OSHC Worldcare for further details.

Other Insurance Providers:

If you have OSHC with another insurance provider, you must contact them directly to renew your cover.
